People in Britain have revealed that their dream home would be somewhere in the countryside, according to recent research.
A survey conducted by the home insurance provider, Legal & General asked homeowners if they were currently living in their dream home. Fifteen per cent of those living in the city said no, while only four per cent of people living in the countryside did not see their present location as their dream property.
This implies that those living in the countryside are the most happiest in their properties. Additionally, 28 per cent of homeowners sited a country hideaway as their dream property.
Ruth Wilkins, the head of communications at Legal & General's general insurance business, said: "There is a really interesting disconnect between where people say they want to live, and where people who are in their dream homes actually live.
"Whether people are lucky enough to be living in their perfect property or not, our home is usually our most precious possession. We'd encourage everyone to make sure they have the right household insurance to protect their property, whatever the style or location."
Seventy-three per cent of people in Britain, said that they were happy to stay in the UK for their ideal property, while Australia and New Zealand, were the most favored overseas destinations for holiday homes, taking up 20 per cent and 13 per cent of respectively.
